Precarity, Mobility and the City: Introduction to the Special Issue

This Special Issue is a collaboration of the Durham Global Security Institute (DGSi) and the Global Policy Institute (GPI), both based at Durham University. Drawing on empirically rich and theoretically grounded case studies, the articles explore ways in which global governmental processes affect mobility and, similarly, how seemingly local movements impact upon global processes.

The idea for the Special Issue developed through a workshop on Violence, Peacebuilding and the City held at Durham University’s School of Government and International Affairs in September 2018. The issue is also made possible with the support of the Matariki network, of which Durham University is a member.
