The third edition of Global Policy: Next Generation (GPNG) emerges into an increasingly multipolar global order with deepening localisation and regionalisation triggered by the twin forces of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising nationalist sentiments across the world. As countries have begun to reassert their sovereignty, close their borders to the outside world, and impinge on the nominal independence of collectively held resources, we are faced with increased urgency to understand and explain the new trends and issues that will define policy making trajectories of the future. This year's edition of GPNG has continued to be overseen and supported by the editorial team of Gregory Stiles, Janina Pescinski, Katharine Petrich, and Anastasia Ufimtseva, along with the inaugural GPNG internship team of Amy Lazell and Flavia Lucenti who have worked tirelessly to promote the work of the third edition's authors to both academia and global policy audiences.
