Beyond Gridlock - Thomas Hale and David Held

London School of Economics, Thursday, 5th October 2017

The world increasingly needs effective international cooperation, but multilateralism appears unable to deliver it in the face of deepening interdependence, rising multipolarity, and the growing complexity and fragmentation that characterise the global order. The new book Beyond Gridlock, which this talk will be about, explores seven pathways through and even beyond gridlock.

Thomas Hale (@thomasnhale) is Associate Professor of Public Policy, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

David Held is Professor of Politics and International Relations, Durham University.

Chaired by Mathias Koenig-Archibugi, Associate Professor of Global Politics at LSE.
