David van Rooyen, from Global Policy, and Dr Pietro Maffettone, from Durham University, interview Dr. James Pattison on the Morality of Private War. The interview was conducted at Durham University.
Dr James Pattison is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester.His research interests currently lie in three related areas: (i) humanitarian intervention and the responsibility to protect (R2P); (ii) the use of private military and security companies, and (iii) Just War Theory and the alternatives to war.
Dr Pietro Maffettone graduated from the University of Rome (La Sapienza) and then moved to the LSE, where he received his PhD from the Department of Government. His research interests centre on ethics and international affairs.
