How do we make sense of "governance" in a fast-changing and complex world? What are the main issues and components of, and for, good governance? In The Governance Report 2013, experts assembled by the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin, Germany) offer an analysis of what governance means today and what implications might be drawn by and for policy makers. Two of those experts (Helmut Anheier and Inge Kaul) will present the Report's findings, focusing in particular on the need for a new paradigm - responsible sovereignty - to guide governance actors in addressing public problems, especially global ones. LSE's own Mary Kaldor and Arne Westad will draw on their research and experience to critically examine the ideas raised. The Director of LSE Craig Calhoun will moderate the discussion.

The event will be followed by a reception at 8 pm in the Senior Common Room, Old Building.
